It was such a beautiful day today that I decided to go for a walk with my human. Took him a while to get out of the house but seemed he seemed to enjoy it (Mom is still too sick). While walking, I looked up and noticed some clouds forming in the sky and thought that it would be fun to write about Cloud Computing.

What is Cloud Computing? Well, with the advent of high-speed Internet lines, more and more companies are hosting their servers and applications in redundant data centers geographically outside of the physical location. Why you ask? Well, there are many advantages.

Cloud Computing is typically very easy to setup with little to no upfront costs. It is scalable, meaning that as you increase your workforce or apps, you know already what the cost is (rather than having to give your Finance team another heart attack asking for another capital expenditure). Apps in the cloud can also be accessed anywhere you have Internet (if you have a gmail account, you are using the Cloud already). Any finally, they are typically more secure than hosting yourself. Why? Because these large cloud companies have the staff and expertise to secure your data.
